Heading to Houston, Mo

This is my student teaching blog that I will be writing about the ups and downs, various teaching strategies that I have found useful and exciting. I will be an itinerant teacher and will be traveling to about 3 or 4 different cities a day. Houston, Mo is located about 2 hours away from Springfield. It is a small town about 2,000 people. It is going to be a different situation for this Big town city girl. ;-).

I found a 1 bedroom apt in downtown Houston. Margie, Don, Papa and I went up there last week to move in the big items and all the items that mom sent home from California. When we got there, we had to do MAJOR cleaning: the kitchen, the living, the carpets, and the bathroom. I got a few things moved in but not everything because we cleaned most of the day. I am going back in a few days to move everything there, then I will stay there until I start my student teaching.

Here are some photos of my apt:
Here is the living room
The Kitchen!
My closet
and lastly my bedroom
It is sure taking some adjustment being here. I don't know why but I am excited for student teaching to start because I am sure I'll be very busy not even to notice things. It is both nerve racking and exciting!! I will miss my all family here in Springfield, mo because I will only be coming home a few weekends but it will only be 10 weeks!! WISH ME LUCK!!

  1. I'm so proud of you Rachel. You are an inspiration. It is refreshing to see a young adult place their "everything" in God's hands and move boldly through all that He has for you. I'm praying for you. I'm excited for you and can't wait to hear all about it. love you
